The verb “conoscere” is similar to the verb “ to know ” but it is specifically use when you want to to say that you have been acquainted with or familiar with a place, a thing or a person. 


The present tense of this verb is 


Io conosco 

Tu conosci 

Egli conosce 

Noi conosciamo 

Voi conoscete 

Loro conoscono 


Ex.


Tu conosci Lucia ? —> Do you know Lucia ?

Conosco un posto bellissimo —> I know a beautiful place 





The verb “sapere” is similar to the English verb “ to know ” but it only means when you know a specific fact , notion , how to do something.

Noi sappiamo 

Voi sapete 

Loro sanno

Sai che sara รจ a Londra —> You know that Sara is in London 

Noi sappiamo parlare lo spagnolo —> We know how to speak Spanish
